It all started approximately 40 years ago when I joined a company in NSW, installing evaporative cooling systems, air-conditioning and heating.
After a period of time I commenced a company that specialised in solely installation and servicing of evaporative cooling systems. This company serviced all parts of NSW and Victoria.
The company went on to become one of the largest and most successful companies in the field of evaporative cooling systems and service.
In 1976 due to the high demand for service in all areas of NSW, it became necessary to expand the company. A1 Filters Pty Ltd was born.
A1 Filters Pty Ltd not only continued to provide installation and service for evaporative cooling systems, it also began manufacturing and supplying of woodwool evaporative filters pads.
Due to the diverse climatic conditions and temperatures experienced throughout rural and suburban NSW, A1 Filters Pty Ltd acquired the knowledge of all conditions that the woodwool evaporative filter pads were required to operate under. This provided A1 Filters Pty Ltd with the expertise that no other company could match or compete with.
Since A1 Filters Pty Ltd came into operation they have manufactured every type of woodwool evaporative filter pad and distributed them to all areas of NSW. A1 Filters Pty Ltd also began supplying the majority of areas of Queensland.
In 2001 it became apparent that availability of staff for the Sydney based company and transport issues had become an ever, increasing problem. Due to A1 Filters Pty Ltd's location it had become difficult to distribute the evaporative filter pads in a cost effective manner.
A decision was made to move the operation outside of the Sydney metropolitan area. Dubbo in western NSW was chosen. Dubbo being the main centre point for road transport to all areas provided the company with access to competitive transport costs.
It was at this time that D & A Filters Pty Ltd incorporating A1 Filters Pty Ltd was formed.
Today D & A Filters Pty Ltd incorporating A1 Filters Pty Ltd continues to lead the way in the manufacture and supply of woodwool evaporative filter pads.
